A question born from a struggle
The search for Rwanda’s history revealed a challenge: finding the knowledge, stories, and cultural information needed was not always easy. One question emerged: what if Rwanda’s history and cultural knowledge could be brought together in one place?
2024
From an idea to a plan
The vision began taking shape. Research, planning, and exploration started to establish what would be needed to build a digital home for Rwanda’s history, culture, and heritage.
2025
The first lines of code
The first code was written, turning the idea into a real project. Rwanda Cultural Museum began its journey from concept to creation, with a long-term vision of making cultural knowledge easier to discover and preserve.
2026
The first chapter is open
The first phase of Rwanda Cultural Museum is complete. The digital Library is now live, allowing people to explore and read books online. The collection continues to grow, bringing more of Rwanda’s history, literature, and cultural knowledge within reach.

Preserving more than words
The journey continues beyond books. The next phase is to digitize and bring together more forms of Rwanda’s cultural heritage — from audio recordings and music to videos, visual materials, and other cultural information — building a richer, more connected digital home for the knowledge and stories of Rwanda.
